Two boys with fresh bread on a German street

Our Story

A vintage German breakfast table

From childhood friends to childhood favorites.

Born and raised in Germany, the two founders of Bäckeli have been friends since they were ten. They grew up on leisurely breakfasts built around warm Brötchen, dark rustic loaves and whatever the local bakery had pulled from the oven that morning.

Life took them in different directions: one built a career in Germany, the other became an entrepreneur in the United States. One subject kept bringing them back together: the bread they grew up with and how hard it is to find done properly.

So Bäckeli was born. A truck in Wynwood and a standard that doesn't move. Today the mission is simple: bring the warmth and craft of authentic German baking to Miami, one honest bake at a time.

Honestly crafted. Freshly baked. Soo Bäckelicious.

Meet Fritz

Every bakery needs someone who knows where the fresh bread is. Fritz is Bäckeli's chief aroma enthusiast, with a feather in his hat, a loaf under his arm, and a permanent head start on the oven timer.

He's on our boxes, on our shirts, and on the side of the truck. If Fritz is nearby, something just came out of the oven.
